CLEAVERS Selected For Excite 2012
We are delighted to announce that Elgin based garage-punk trio CLEAVERS have been selected by our partners to participate in this year’s Excite Exchange Project. This year’s exchange will see CLEAVERS represent goNORTH at SPOT Festival (Denmark), PLAY Festival (Belgium) and Freeze Festival (Netherlands); the partnership will also bring three of the most exciting new prospects in Europe to goNORTH 2012, Nelson Can, Pioneers of Love and Polaroid Fiction.

Dates Announced For goNORTH 2012
We are delighted to confirm that goNORTH 2012 will take place on the 6th and 7th of June next year. The twelfth edition of Scotland’s premier Creative Industries festival will again be held across several venues in Inverness City Centre.
Last year proved our most successful goNORTH to date, and boasted the broadest range of creative industry activity in the event’s eleven year history. For 2011, we also introduced the goNORTH Festival Tour, an exciting development which saw us deliver some fantastic showcasing opportunities for emerging bands and film makers at five of the finest independent festivals in the country.
We are delighted with the success of goNORTH 2011 and our inaugural Festival Tour”, said goNORTH Director for Screen and Broadcast, Amanda Millen.“The response to last year s event was fantastic, with a significant increase in attendance across all elements. We are really looking forward to delivering another great programme in 2012, and are working hard to ensure goNORTH remains one of the top creative industry events on the calendar.
Last year’s event was outstanding, and generated some excellent opportunities for emerging artists and music businesses, added Director for Music Shaun Arnold. We are looking forward to bringing another top class programme of industry panels, workshops and live showcases to the north of Scotland, and are really excited about starting our 2012 campaign.
As always, all panels, worshops and live showcases will be free and open to the public, with industry and media requested to register.

Capitals Get Ready To Excite
As part of our Excite Project for 2011, one of the stand-out acts from this year s goNORTH live showcases are currently generating a buzz at two top European Festivals. Electro-pop duo Capitals were selected by organisers to appear at Freeze Festival in Holland and Play Festival in Belgium for this year s exchange, with a series of additional shows between each date. Following a triumphant appearance at Freeze Festival last weekend, the band are scheduled for Play Festival on October the 1st.

ScreenHI’s Final Screening Programme for goNORTH Festival Tour at Loopallu 2011
5 Minute Wonders Film Tent & West House
16th & 17th September, Ullapool
We are into the final flurry of summer festivals taking place around the UK. Loopallu kicks off this Friday and we have a fantastic, bespoke short film screening programme providing an alternative to the musical entertainment. If you want to take a break for 5 or 50 minutes then come along to the 5 Minute Wonders tent and enjoy a comfy, chilled out space…and, of course, some great films!

goNORTH at Wizard Festival 2011
The next stop on our Festival Tour schedule for 2011 will see eight top emerging acts take to the Banshee Stage at Wizard Festival in Aberdeenshire across August 26 and 27.
